"In the chapelry of Whittington is Crookbarrow Hill, one of the largest tumuli (supposed) in England".
Noakes Guide to Worcestershire 1868.

A further important inspiration for this initiative is The Crookbarrow: a numinous archaeological and natural feature on the edge of the City of Worcester.

The setting for The Crookbarrow is an equally “iconic”, and blighted, historic landscape permeated by suburbanisation, a city bypass road, and the M5.

This fine landscape setting is depicted in Henry Harris Lines's 1843
painting of "Worcester from Crookbarrow Hill", part of the Government Art Collection.

Crookbarrow Associates is a new initiative that brings together Process Consulting and Communications Work. This website may usefully be viewed in conjunction with www.epona-land.co.uk

The Principal of Crookbarrow Associates is Janet Mackinnon MA MSc. Her interest in Process Consulting began in the early 1990s when she worked for a large firm of international business and management consultants.

Process Consulting is a term most often linked to the work of the Edgar H Schein in the United States. Professor Schein uses the expression 'Process Consultation'. However, Janet’s interpretation of 'process' also draws upon its use by Dr Arnold Mindell in 'Process Orientated Psychology' or 'Process Work' www.aamindell.net

Janet’s involvement in Communications Work started in the mid 1980s with a number of campaigns around the issues of air pollution, conservation of the built and natural environment, public transport and social housing provision.

A communications perspective has been the touchstone of her consultancy career.

In bringing together Communications and Process Consulting, Crookbarrow Associates aims to provide an innovative and applied service for clients involved in area regeneration and environmental conservation: whether as project developers, or stakeholders opposed to inappropriate/unsustainable development.

The work of Crookbarrow Associates may also be relevant to statutory agencies seeking to make process improvements eg. to the planning system. An example might be where such agencies needed to consider the introduction of new mechanisms to enable more effective consideration of development options.
